The cheapest way to get a professional website with hosting
Published 2 November 2026The short answer
Among the builders compared here, the cheapest route to your own domain and hosting is a prepaid multi-year plan: Hostinger's Premium is $2.49 a month if you pay $119.52 for 48 months, then renews at $10.99. The cheapest month-to-month option is Orivox at $5 a month. A free plan costs nothing but limits what you can publish or where.
We make Orivox, so treat this as the publisher's view. Every figure for another company comes from that company's own pricing page, read on 2 November 2026; prices change and vary by country, so check before you buy.
Three ways to pay
| Route | Example | Cost | Catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free plan | Orivox, Wix, Framer | $0 | Your site lives on the vendor's address; limits on pages, storage or AI credits. Durable's free plan lists a website preview, so check whether it publishes. |
| Month to month or yearly | Orivox Single Site | $5/month, or $50 billed yearly | Hosting included; custom domain on the paid plan. |
| Prepaid long term | Hostinger Premium | $2.49/month, $119.52 upfront for 48 months | Renews at $10.99/month; the domain is free for the first year. |

The arithmetic over four years
- Orivox Single Site billed yearly: 4 x $50 = $200. Billed monthly: 48 x $5 = $240.
- Hostinger Premium: $119.52 for the first 48 months, then $10.99 a month, or about $132 a year, after that.
- Wix Light billed yearly: about 48 x $17.77 = $853.
So the prepaid route is cheapest if you are sure you will keep the site for four years. If you are not sure, a plan you can leave next month is worth the difference.
Costs people forget
- The domain. Some plans include a year free; after that it is an annual fee.
- Renewal. A promotional price usually applies to the first term only.
- Credits. On AI builders each generation or edit can use credits, so check the monthly allowance.
- Email. A professional address at your domain is often a separate charge.
When free is enough
If you only need something online this week, a free plan on an address like yourname.platform.com is a legitimate start. Switch to a paid plan when you want your own domain, which is what customers remember and search engines index under your name.
